Judge Lynn Tayton set key dates: a plea and trial prep hearing on March 21 and a 10-day trial starting November 4 before a High Court judge.

Father’s 999 Call Led Police to Scene

Prosecutor Louise Oakley revealed that Kobi’s father, Ben Dooly, raised the alarm over his son’s welfare after separating from Macharia about a year earlier. Officers arrived at their Hackney home just before 11pm on December 20 to find Kobi gravely injured.

  • Kobi rushed to Royal London Hospital but was pronounced dead at 12:16am on December 21.
  • He suffered several sharp force injuries, including wounds to his neck and chest.

Family Mourns, Calls for Privacy

Keziah Macharia was arrested at their Montague Road home and charged with murder two days later. The family is struggling to come to terms with their loss.

“With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Kobi, you will be so dearly missed,” said father Ben Dooly. “The joy and laughter you brought to the world has been taken far too soon. We will be thinking of you day and night for eternity until we meet you again. The family would like to acknowledge all messages of support. Please respect our privacy at this very difficult time.”
