Wizz Air UK Flight Declares Emergency Over French Airspace: Medical Emergency on Board

On January 11th, a Wizz Air UK flight from London Gatwick to Agadir declared an emergency while over French airspace.

Aviation source reported the flight, W95759, initially used the emergency 7700 squawk code but changed to 5260 at 18:19 UK time.

The Airbus A321 safely landed back at London Gatwick around 18:46 UK time, following the emergency call. The cause was a medical emergency involving a passenger on board.

After landing, paramedics attended to the situation at Gatwick.

The flight resumed, departing at 7:55 pm and successfully landed in Agadir at 9:20 pm local time.
