Multi-Car Crash on Medina Way Involving Stolen Car

A smash-up on Medina Way’s southbound carriageway has sparked a police probe. The crash, reported at 11:22am on April 10, involved four vehicles – a red Honda Civic, blue BMW X5, black Kia Sorento, and grey Nissan Qashqai. Thankfully, only minor injuries were reported.

The red Honda Civic involved was stolen earlier that day from Lushington Garden Centre between 7:30am and 11am. Police believe the theft is linked to the accident.

Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

A 25-year-old man from Ryde was arrested over the crash. He faces several charges including taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and drink driving. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles on Fairlee Road, Coppins Bridge, or Medina Way leading up to the crash. They especially seek dashcam footage to help piece together events.
