A 39-year-old man has been charged and sent to prison following an attempted kidnap incident in Ilkeston.
Teen Targeted on Nutbrook Trail
The shocking event unfolded just before 8am on Wednesday, July 17, when a man allegedly grabbed a teenage boy on the Nutbrook Trail. Thankfully, the boy was unharmed and was safely returned to his father.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
After increased patrols, officers arrested Liam Meenan on Stanton Road, Ilkeston, just before 10am the next day, Thursday, July 18.
Charged and Remanded to Prison
- Liam Meenan was charged with attempted kidnap.
- He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 19.
- The court remanded him to prison pending his next hearing on August 8.
