Man Remanded Over Horrific Crossbow Family Murder
Kyle Clifford, 26, was remanded in custody today after a chilling court hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. He stands accused of a brutal attack in Bushey, Hertfordshire, where a mother and her two daughters were fatally assaulted with a crossbow and knife.
Victim Tied to Chair During Nightmare Attack
The victims were Carol Hunt, 61, wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25. The court heard that Louise had been tied to a chair when police arrived. Hannah made a desperate call fearing none of them would survive the horrific ordeal.
Charged With Murder, False Imprisonment, and Weapon Possession
- Clifford faces three counts of murder.
- He is charged with false imprisonment.
- Possession of offensive weapons including a crossbow and 10-inch butcher’s knife.
Clifford, from Enfield, has been in custody since July 10. Police delayed interviewing him due to injuries he received during the attack, for which he was treated in hospital.

“The devastation we are experiencing cannot be put into words,” said John Hunt and his third daughter Amy in a heartbreaking statement after the tragedy.
Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring confirmed these serious charges will be heard at the Crown Court. Clifford will appear later today at the Royal Courts of Justice for a further hearing.
The gruesome attack has shocked the local community as the case continues to unfold.
