Police Appeal for Witnesses After Armed Robbery at Whitstable Post Office

Kent Police are urging witnesses to come forward after an armed robbery at Swalecliffe Post Office on Herne Bay Road, Whitstable. The incident occurred at 8:39 AM on Thursday, 19 September 2024, when a man entered the premises, assaulted a staff member, and stole cash and postage stamps.

The suspect, described as approximately 5ft 11in tall with a slim build, was wearing a black balaclava, gloves, grey trousers, and a grey tracksuit top. He was also carrying a black rucksack and wearing light brown work boots. The man reportedly threatened the staff member with a knife before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Officers responded promptly, and initial investigations are underway.

Detective Inspector Danni Driscoll said, “While the investigation is in its early stages, we are appealing for anyone who may have relevant information about the incident, including dashcam footage, to come forward.
