Armed Robbery Shakes Swalecliffe Post Office
Kent Police are hunting a masked man after a terrifying armed robbery at the Swalecliffe Post Office on Herne Bay Road, Whitstable. It happened just before 9 AM on Thursday, 19 September 2024.
The suspect burst in, attacked a staff member, then grabbed cash and postage stamps before making a swift getaway. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Suspect Described as Slim, Masked Knife-Threat
The man is around 5ft 11in tall with a slim build. He wore a black balaclava, gloves, grey tracksuit top, and grey trousers. Witnesses say he carried a black rucksack and wore light brown work boots.
He reportedly threatened the staffer with a knife during the robbery, sparking alarm in the usually quiet area.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Inspector Danni Driscoll urged locals to come forward with any info or dashcam footage. She said, “While the investigation is in its early stages, we are appealing for anyone who may have relevant information about the incident.”
