Police searching for missing nurse Victoria Taylor have confirmed the discovery of a body near the area where she was last seen. The 34-year-old, who left her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, on 30 September, had been the subject of an extensive search operation led by North Yorkshire Police.
A number of Ms. Taylor’s personal belongings were previously found close to the River Derwent, raising concerns about her safety. CCTV footage captured her walking towards a play park near the water’s edge on the morning of her disappearance. Earlier that day, she had been seen at a BP garage purchasing several items.
Police deployed drones, divers, and specialist sonar equipment in their efforts to locate Ms. Taylor. Despite the comprehensive search operation, her whereabouts had remained unknown until today’s discovery.
North Yorkshire Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the body, and a formal identification process is underway. However, authorities have stated that Ms. Taylor’s family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The investigation continues, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
