Crash Chaos Closes M25 Near Dartford
Motorists faced misery today at the Dartford Crossing after a crash slammed two lanes shut on the M25 anticlockwise, sparking massive tailbacks.
Tunnel Crash Sparks Gridlock
The smash happened early this morning, forcing a quick closure of the left-hand tunnel. Traffic snarled back all the way to junction 2 (A2 Darenth Interchange) as lanes remained closed for hours, leaving drivers seething.
Lanes Reopen, But Delays Drag On
By 12:33pm, all lanes were back open, but queues still clogged the anticlockwise carriageway at junction 1a (A206 Dartford Tunnel). The northbound route stayed jammed for a while longer, easing only gradually.
By 1:05pm, most of the congestion had cleared, though some tailbacks lingered near junction 1a.
Delays Expected Until Mid-Afternoon
Officials warned drivers to brace for delays until roughly 2:30pm. They urged everyone to stay patient and check traffic updates before hitting the road.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but thankfully no injuries have been reported.
