Driver Facing Court After Being Caught Without Insurance and Bald Tyres in Lisburn

A driver is set to face court after being stopped by Roads Policing Officers from Mahon Road in Lisburn this afternoon (April 22), uncovering multiple serious motoring offences.

During a routine traffic stop, officers discovered that the vehicle in question was being driven without valid insurance. A further inspection revealed that two of the vehicle’s tyres were worn below the legal tread limit, presenting a significant safety hazard.

In a statement posted to social media, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed:

“The vehicle was found to be uninsured and had two tyres with tread below the legal limit. As a result, the driver will shortly receive a summons to court.”

Driving without insurance and with defective tyres are both offences that carry substantial penalties, including fines, penalty points, and potential disqualification from driving.

Officers have reminded all motorists of the importance of ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy and legally insured before driving.

“Checks like these are carried out to keep our roads safe for everyone,” a PSNI spokesperson added.
