Uninsured Driver Nabbed with Dangerous Tyres in Lisburn
A driver is facing court after being caught red-handed by Roads Policing Officers in Lisburn this afternoon (April 22), exposing serious motoring offences.
Routine Stop Uncovers Shocking Motoring Offences
During a routine traffic stop on Mahon Road, officers discovered the vehicle was being driven without valid insurance. The inspection didn’t stop there — two of the car’s tyres were worn beyond the legal tread limit, posing a major safety risk.
PSNI Issues Court Summons
“The vehicle was found to be uninsured and had two tyres with tread below the legal limit. As a result, the driver will shortly receive a summons to court,” confirmed the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
Serious Consequences for Dangerous Driving
Driving without insurance and with worn tyres carries hefty fines, penalty points, and possible disqualification. PSNI urged all motorists to check their vehicles are roadworthy and insured before hitting the road.
“Checks like these are carried out to keep our roads safe for everyone,” a PSNI spokesperson added.
