Police are warning motorists of significant disruption after a serious traffic collision involving a car and a bike on Baring Road, Lewisham, early this morning (Sunday, 27 April).
Officers were called to the scene at 1.53am following reports of the collision on the South Circular (A205) near Burnt Ash Hill. Emergency services are in attendance, and road closures have been put in place in both directions between Burnt Ash Hill and Birch Grove.
Lewisham Police issued a statement on social media, advising:
“TRAFFIC ALERT: On 27.04.25 at 01:53hrs, police were called to a traffic collision between a car and a bike on Baring Road, SE12. Road closures are in place on the South Circular in both directions between Burnt Ash Hill and Birch Grove. Please check your route before you travel.
The condition of those involved in the crash has not yet been confirmed, and investigations into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible, as heavy congestion is expected throughout the morning.
Transport for London (TfL) is also advising bus users to check for service disruptions in the Lewisham and Grove Park areas.
