A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a serious crash involving a bus on New Romney High Street this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the A259 near Tritton Lane at approximately 4:05pm, where a collision between a bus and a pedestrian resulted in a partial road closure. The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance attended the scene alongside ambulance crews and police.
The patient, whose condition has not yet been confirmed, was treated at the scene before being transported by road to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further medical care.
Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption
A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said:
“Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The patient was then taken by road to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.”
The incident caused temporary delays in the area, with Stagecoach cancelling the 4:21pm 102 service from Lydd to Folkestone due to the disruption. By 5:30pm, traffic was reported to have returned to normal, and the affected section of the road was reopened.
Photos from the scene show the damaged bus parked on the High Street, with emergency crews attending to the scene during the height of the response.

Kent Police have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made or if an investigation has been launched into the cause of the crash. Witnesses or those with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident are encouraged to contact authorities.
