Man Seriously Injured in West Ham Park Stabbing
Stabbing Shocks West Ham Park
A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in West Ham Park, Newham, this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Upton Lane entrance of the park at just before 11am on Tuesday, July 29, following reports of an assault involving a knife.
Massive Police and Ambulance Response
Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews arrived swiftly. The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre by road.
A LAS spokesperson said: “We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic from our tactical response unit, and clinical team managers. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road.”
The victim’s condition remains unknown. Police investigations are ongoing.
West Ham Park Shut Until Further Notice
The City of London Corporation, which manages the park, confirmed the closure just before midday.
“Due to a police incident that occurred this morning (29 July), West Ham Park is currently closed and will remain closed until further notice. We appreciate your understanding and will share updates as they become available.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
The Metropolitan Police have not yet released a full statement but continue their enquiries into the stabbing.
