Two Hospitalised After Taking Dangerous ‘Edible’ Sweets in Godalming
An adult man and a 15-year-old teen were rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill from sweets believed to be cannabis-infused. The man was admitted around 8.15pm, with the teenager following at 11.40pm. Both remain in a serious but stable condition.
Police Warn Parents and Kids: Stay Away from ‘Edibles’
The pair are thought to have been in the Godalming area when they fell ill. Authorities are urgently investigating where these sweets came from. Parents across Surrey are being urged to warn their children about the dangers of trying “edibles”.
Detective Inspector Andy Greaves said: “Our immediate priority is to warn parents; and to tell children in the area not to be tempted to try them as they are obviously causing substantial harm.
“These types of products, which may be marketed as ‘cannabis infused’ or ‘THC infused’ are illegal, and therefore unregulated, in the UK. They can appear to be commercial products with professional packaging, but this should not be taken as a sign that they are safe or legal.”
