A brutal Afghan attacker who savagely assaulted a young woman on a London street has been found dead in prison.

Harsh Attack in Harlesden

Gulwali Stanekzay, 25, was jailed for a shocking three-year term after his 2023 rampage in Harlesden, north-west London. The cowardly thug rode his bike into 23-year-old Aisha Waris as she walked home alone at night. He knocked her to the ground, then relentlessly punched her in the head, leaving her battered and bleeding.

The violence didn’t end there. Stanekzay returned multiple times, trying to attack Aisha again, even attempting to smash through a door to get to her.

Death Inside HMP Wandsworth

Stanekzay admitted his guilt and was locked up until January 17, 2026. But his sentence was cut short when he was found dead at HMP Wandsworth. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
