Ex-Cop Dodges Jail for Downloading Child Abuse Images… Again
A former Wiltshire police officer with a dark past has narrowly escaped prison once more. Callum Denley, 21, from Malmesbury, was back in court after being caught with horrific child abuse images on his mobile phone.
Ex-Officer’s Troubled History
- Denley was first convicted in May 2025 for child sex offences.
- He resigned from the force and was permanently barred from policing.
- Initially sentenced to 10 months in jail, suspended for 18 months, plus a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
New Crimes, Same Disturbing Pattern
Just one month after his SHPO began, Denley broke the rules by hiding his mobile phone from officers. A forensic investigation revealed 34 vile indecent images and videos of children. Denley pleaded guilty at Swindon Crown Court.
Another Suspended Sentence Sparks Outrage
Despite the damning evidence, Denley received a 14-month prison sentence – suspended for two years. This latest leniency has sparked fresh fury and questions over how courts handle child abuse cases, especially involving ex-police officers.
Callum Denley’s case is a grim reminder that some predators lurk where we least expect.
