Najeebullah Arab, 39, an Afghan migrant, has pleaded guilty to kidnap, rape, and two counts of sexual assault at Oxford Crown Court.
Chilling Attacks Just Six Days Apart
Arab first targeted a woman in her late 20s on January 21. He followed her from Cane Lane to Main Street in Grove and sexually assaulted her.
Just six days later, while cycling on Grove Road, he approached a teenage girl. After a brief conversation, he assaulted and then raped her behind Mably Way.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage
Arab was arrested on January 30 and charged on February 1. When taken into custody, he refused to self-identify his ethnicity.
“Firstly, I want to acknowledge the victims in this case for the incredible courage they’ve shown in coming forward,” said Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May.
“Thames Valley Police take reports of sexual offences extremely seriously, especially those involving violence against women and girls. We are committed to thorough investigations and supporting victims every step of the way.”
Justice on the Horizon
Detectives confirmed the strong evidence left Arab no choice but to plead guilty. He is awaiting sentencing at a future date.
Police vow to continue protecting the public and bringing offenders like Arab to justice.
