A violent row at a High Peak bonfire event left a man with a broken jaw – and now the attacker is behind bars.

Fight Erupts Over Ride Placement

The clash happened at Dove Holes Village Hall on 4 November 2024. Disagreement flared up between 33-year-old Nathaniel Bramhall and one of the event organisers about where to place a ride. When Bramhall refused to move it, tempers exploded.

Blow to The Face Followed by Kicks

Eyewitnesses say Bramhall punched a man in his 40s square in the face. The victim fell to the ground, where Bramhall kicked him repeatedly in the body and head. Bramhall was quickly arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.

Jail Time and Fine

Charged in February 2025 with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, Bramhall was granted conditional police bail. However, on 1 April 2026, Derby Crown Court sentenced him to three years in prison. He was also ordered to pay a £228 surcharge.
