A 56-year-old man found dead with multiple injuries at a property in Cornwall has been named as Ian Davis, as his family paid tribute to a “harmless” animal lover who “didn’t deserve what happened to him”.
Police launched a murder investigation after Mr Davis was discovered at a property in Liskeard on Sunday. Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at around 9.30pm.
In a tribute, his family said: “He was harmless and he loved his animals, especially dogs, he didn’t deserve what happened to him.
“He will be missed and loved.”
Four arrested on suspicion of murder
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Mr Davis’s death.
Three of those arrested are from Liskeard and are aged in their 30s, 40s and 50s. A fourth man, aged in his 20s, is from Plymouth.
All four have since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
Detective Inspector Pete Gee said: “We recognise the impact this incident has had on the local community and would like to thank residents for their continued support and patience while enquiries are carried out.”
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about Mr Davis’s death to come forward.
The four men arrested remain suspects and have not been charged.
