Tragic Blaze Claims Life in Swindon Flat Fire

This morning at around 10:20am, emergency crews rushed to a first-floor flat fire in Swindon. Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, backed by Wiltshire Police, responded swiftly.

All residents in the building were evacuated as a precaution. The Buckhurst Community Centre opened its doors to shelter those displaced by the blaze.

Man in His 40s Dies at Scene

Tragically, a local man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the death is not currently being treated as suspicious, but investigations continue.

Fire Cause Under Investigation

Authorities are working closely to determine what sparked the fire. A police cordon remains in place as forensic teams comb the site. Swindon Borough Council is also on the scene assisting efforts.
