Man Shot in Broad Daylight Chaos at Luxury Puerto Banus

A man has been injured in a shocking daylight shooting at Puerto Banus, the swanky Costa del Sol hotspot, sparking panic among shoppers and holidaymakers. The terrifying attack happened just after 11 a.m. close to a chemist near the Cristamar shopping mall.

Gunmen Open Fire Near Busy Mall

Witnesses say two gunmen suddenly blasted several rounds before speeding off in a white getaway car. The victim, a German man of Arabic descent, was hit in the leg and ran into the mall for safety. Emergency services treated him onsite before rushing him to hospital.

Police confirmed the man’s injuries are not life-threatening and that he was stabilised at the scene. So far, no arrests have been made as the investigation gets underway.

Luxury Resort in Panic

The usually bustling port area, famous for luxury yachts and designer boutiques, descended into chaos. Tourists and shoppers fled in terror as gunfire erupted. The incident has rocked this upscale playground.

This shooting marks yet another violent episode in Marbella and Puerto Banus this year. In response, authorities launched the ‘Marbella Plan’ back in April. The initiative boosts police patrols and cracks down on crime hotspots, including popular beach clubs like Ocean Club.

Hunt for Suspects Underway

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements to track down the shooters. They’re urging anyone with info about the attack or the white getaway car to step forward immediately.

Puerto Banus remains a magnet for tourists, but the brazen shooting highlights the challenges of keeping such high-profile areas safe.
