Coastguard Rush to Rescue Two Teens in Trouble at Ventnor Seafront

Ventnor’s Coastguard Rescue Team sprang into action after two teenagers got into trouble in the rough waters off Ventnor seafront last night.

Distress Call Sparks Swift Rescue

At 6.35pm on Sunday 19th August 2018, the UK Coastguard operations centre received an urgent call reporting two young swimmers trapped in the sea. The Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team was immediately deployed to the scene.

Heroic Bystander Saves the Day

A brave member of the public, who wished to remain anonymous, didn’t hesitate to jump into the choppy waters and pull the teens to safety. “There was one kid swimming when I was down there – the sea was pretty rough,” the witness said.

Emergency Services on Site

Once on scene, the Coastguard requested the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to assist. Both youngsters were treated at the scene before being taken to St Mary’s Hospital for precautionary check-ups.
