Decapitated Body Found in Harpenden – Police Say No Suspicion
A shocking discovery in Harpenden early Friday morning as a man was found decapitated. Police have launched an investigation but say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Gruesome Find on Thrales End Lane
Roads Policing officers stumbled upon the horrifying scene on Thrales End Lane, near Harpenden, just before dawn. Police, paramedics, and an air ambulance rushed to the location following the grim call.
Residents on nearby Cooters End Lane were left stunned by the heavy police presence, which lasted until around 2pm on Friday.
Forensics and Ambulance Remove Victim
People in white forensic suits scoured the area. Later, a private ambulance arrived to remove the deceased man from the vehicle found at the scene. Locals reported unusual activity around two oak trees close to where the body was found.
Local Resident Shares Eerie Past Encounter
One anonymous resident, familiar with the area due to shooting trips, recalled a previous grim discovery: “I once found a dead baby dumped in a cardboard box nearby.”
Police Statement
Sergeant James Thorne of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said:
“We were called at around 4.40am on Friday to Thrales End Lane, East Hyde. Emergency services attended, and a man found in a vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared and passed to the coroner.”
