A man was seriously injured after a bus smashed into a tree at the junction of Merlin Road and Hook Lane, Welling. The crash caused the tree to topple on top of a pedestrian walking his dog, sparking a major emergency response.

Man Trapped Under Fallen Tree, Dog Escapes
Witnesses say the bus hit the tree with such force it was uprooted. The tree then fell on the man, who remained conscious despite being trapped. Locals reported the man’s dog ran home safely.
Rescue crews worked quickly to free the man, who sustained head injuries. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by land ambulance. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
