Police Bust ‘Chop Shop’ Ring in Retford
Police swooped on West Carr Business Park, Retford, late last night after reports of stolen vehicles being dismantled on site. Officers arrived around 11.35pm on 19 March to find several vans stripped down for parts.
Three Men Arrested in Vehicle Theft Crackdown
Three men, aged 24, 31, and 37, were arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and remain in custody as investigations continue. Officers seized multiple mobile phones and are examining the vehicles recovered from the scene.
Heavy Police Presence and Ongoing Investigations
Authorities are analysing CCTV footage and carrying out local inquiries, warning residents to expect an increased police presence in the area.
Sergeant Rachel Dowsett, Nottinghamshire Police: “Officers on patrol last night did a great job uncovering this suspected ‘chop shop’ where stolen vehicles were being stripped for parts. We know the harm car theft causes, which is why we work with other forces to track and disrupt these criminals.
I urge anyone who suspects stolen cars are being handled or dismantled to come forward. We’re still investigating and need all information that can help.”
