Ryde Rescue Called Out as Boat Breaks Free and Drifts Off Ryde
The independent lifeboat Ryde Rescue sprang into action just before midday on Monday, July 9th. The UK Coastguard raised the alarm after a 6-metre vessel broke loose from its mooring in Seaview and began drifting off Ryde.

Ryde Rescue’s volunteer crew raced to the scene aboard Ryde Rescue 1. They quickly secured the unattended vessel and took it safely in tow, preventing any potential danger to other boats or swimmers.
Support Arrives from Bembridge Coastguard Search and Rescue Team
The Bembridge Coastguard Search and Rescue Team was also dispatched and positioned themselves on the shore at Ryde, ready to assist if needed.
The quick response by the Ryde Rescue team averted what could have been a dangerous situation at sea.
