Teen Schoolboy Fights for Life After Horrific Bus Crash Near Peterborough School

A teenage boy is in critical condition after being hit by a bus while walking to Queen Katherine Academy in Peterborough on Monday morning.

Early Morning Horror on A15 Werrington Parkway

The shocking collision happened just before 8:20am near the Shell garage on the A15 Werrington Parkway. Emergency services raced to the scene, with crews from Cambridgeshire Police, East of England Ambulance Service, and Magpas Air Ambulance all responding.

The injured boy was stabilised at the scene before being rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he is now fighting for his life with life-threatening injuries.

Bus Driver Arrested Over Dangerous Driving

Police arrested the bus driver on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Officers have launched a witness appeal, urging anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward.

“We were called at about 8.20am today (23 June) with reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian on the A15 Werrington Parkway, Peterborough. Emergency services attended and the pedestrian has been taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital with life-threatening injuries.” – Cambridgeshire Police spokesman

Queen Katherine Academy expressed deep shock and sadness over the incident.

“We are shocked and saddened to learn that one of our students was seriously injured after being hit by a bus near the Shell Garage on the A15/Lincoln Road. They are being treated for life-threatening injuries, and we are in close contact with them and their family.”
