Three Dead, Five Injured in Horror Dungannon Road Crash
Tragedy struck on Dungannon Road near junction 1 on Monday afternoon. A devastating crash claimed the lives of three people: a woman in her 80s, a man in his 20s, and a woman in her 50s who was a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Children Among Those Hurt
Four children and a woman in her 20s were rushed to hospital following the smash. Emergency services sprang into action just after 3.30pm GMT, with officers, paramedics, and firefighters all attending the chaotic scene.
Major Investigation Launched
Chief Superintendent Gerard Pollock said specialist investigators from the Collision Investigation Unit are leading the probe. He urged anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to get in touch.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage or any other information to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 957 of 26/12/22,” he said.
Emergency Services Response
- Northern Ireland Ambulance Service deployed two rapid response paramedics.
- Four emergency crews and one non-emergency crew attended.
- Air ambulance also scrambled to the scene.
After on-site assessment, four patients were taken to Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. Another was rushed to Royal Victoria Hospital.
