Woman Stabbed to Death Over £70 Drug Deal in Portsmouth
Two women remain in custody following a fatal stabbing on Toronto Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, on Saturday night. Police have launched a murder investigation after a 36-year-old woman was found fatally injured inside a property just before midnight.
Chilling Murder Over Small Drug Deal
Officers rushed to the scene at 11:58pm after an injured woman was discovered. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the property. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed a Home Office post-mortem will take place in due course.
Neighbours are shocked by the violent attack on their normally quiet street. One local, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed the stabbing was linked to a drug deal gone wrong worth just £70. The victim was allegedly attacked by two women who did not live at the property.
Two Arrested as Police Hunt Murder Weapon
A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 52-year-old woman faces charges of assisting an offender. Both are from Portsmouth.
Witnesses reported loud noises from the house on Saturday, followed by a heavy police and ambulance presence. A paramedic reportedly told officers the victim had suffered a deep wound and lost a significant amount of blood.
Detective Chief Inspector David Brown of Hampshire Police issued an urgent appeal:
“If you were in the area of Toronto Road last night and saw anything suspicious, please come forward. No detail is too small.”
