Swindon House Locked Down to Smash Drug and Anti-Social Havoc
Swindon police have slapped a three-month partial closure order on a property in Welcombe Avenue after drug dealing and anti-social behaviour spiralled out of control.
Strict Access Rules
The order means only the residents, emergency services, or Swindon Borough Council officers can enter the address. Anyone else caught stepping inside could face arrest for breaking the ban.
Police Crackdown to Protect Locals
PC Aidan Hillier said: “Closure orders are an effective way of reducing anti-social behaviour and criminal activity associated with the address, and will hopefully provide some reassurance to local residents who will no doubt have been affected by the ongoing issues in some way.”
He added, “We will continue to patrol the area and ensure the order is being adhered to over the next few months at all different times of the day and night, and would urge anyone with concerns to call 101.”
