Man Jailed for Child Sex Abuse Nearly a Decade After Crime
Sex Predator Sentenced to 30 Months
Anandarajah Bremakumar, 61, from Colindale, was locked up for 30 months at Wood Green Crown Court on Thursday, 2 February. He was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child following a trial that ended in December 2022.
Offences Date Back to 2010
The court heard how Bremakumar abused a girl under 16 years old, someone he knew, back in 2010. The victim kept silent for years until a breakthrough came in 2019.
Case Cracked After Therapist’s Report
Police were only tipped off after a therapist reported concerns. The victim agreed to help the investigation, and officers collected further evidence from Bremakumar’s acquaintances at the time.
Denial Didn’t Save Him
Bremakumar was arrested on 30 April 2021. He denied the charges but was formally charged by police on 16 December 2021. Justice finally caught up with him after years in the shadows.
