Sex fiend’s fake victim letter busted by prison stamp!
52-Year-Old Jailed for Shocking Lancashire Attacks
Anthony Kirkbright, 54, was locked up for four years at Preston Crown Court after admitting sexually assaulting two vulnerable women in Accrington and Blackburn, Lancashire Police revealed.
Gross Attacks on Defenceless Women
- June 2020: Kirkbright targeted a woman at Accrington bus station while she was vulnerable.
- June 2021: While out on bail, he attacked a second victim after being invited into her Blackburn home.
Attempted Trick Leaves Police Laughing
After being charged and held on remand at HMP Altcourse, Kirkbright tried to fool police by sending a letter to Greenbank police station in Blackburn claiming it was from his second victim.
But the plan backfired spectacularly when officers spotted the postage stamp from HMP Altcourse on the envelope – blowing his cover.
Cop Praises Sentence: “Danger to Women”
Det Con Tom Dawson said: “I am pleased with the sentence and that the courts have imposed orders which will restrict Kirkbright’s association with women when he is released. Like the judge in this case, I believe Kirkbright is a danger to women and I am pleased the public have some respite from his grotesque behaviour.”
Kirkbright also admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice and breaching a sexual harm prevention order. He was already on the sex offenders register for life.
