Daniel Holyoak, 39, unleashed a savage assault on his victim after returning from a 10-day binge on cocaine and alcohol. He punched her repeatedly, stamped all over her body, dragged her by the hair, and slammed a door into her face multiple times.
Victim Left Bloodied and Bruised
The vicious attack left the woman covered in bruises, with a missing front tooth, a swollen eye, and clear shoe prints across her body. She managed to seek help at an ambulance station on 12 July 2021, prompting police intervention.
Arrest and Court Fallout
- Police arrested Holyoak the next day at their Ramnoth Road home in Wisbech, where the assault took place.
- While on remand, Holyoak repeatedly contacted the victim, attempting to persuade her to drop charges.
- At cambridge/" title="Cambridge" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Cambridge Crown Court on 20 April, he pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
Holyoak was sentenced to six years and two months behind bars for the brutal attack and his efforts to obstruct justice.
