Armed Police Swarm London Hotel After Military Police Raise Alarm Over Guest
High Alert Near Buckingham Palace
Armed officers stormed a central London hotel after Military Police flagged serious concerns about a guest. Staff at The Calvados Hotel, located on Belgrave Road, Pimlico—just minutes from Buckingham Palace—contacted the Met Police after growing suspicious of an occupant.
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Firearms Command surrounded the hotel swiftly. The man, reportedly linked to the military, was traced and detained outside the premises.
Serious Threat Sparks Police Show of Force
Details remain scarce, but the guest is believed to have made a serious threat. Hotel staff revealed the incident relates to an ongoing Military Police investigation. The individual, who checked in on February 7, had been drinking and was spotted wearing a MOLLE tactical vest. It’s not clear if any weapons were found.
Despite fears, no arrests have been made and the hotel stayed open, with guests describing a heavy but calm police presence.
Man Hospitalised After Police Engagement
Staff were told to keep their distance as armed officers engaged the man. He was eventually taken to hospital for evaluation. Police have not confirmed if charges will follow.
Thankfully, there were no injuries among guests or hotel workers. Officers secured the area while staff maintained hotel operations under police instructions.
