Brutal Attack After Football Borrowing Gone Wrong in Eel Brook Common
At around 7.40pm on 2 October 2020, a calm evening in Eel Brook Common turned violent. A man was approached by a group of teenagers who asked to borrow his football. He agreed, but when they walked off without returning it, he followed them to ask for his ball back.
Confrontation Escalates Into Brutal Assault
Things took a dark twist when another group of older individuals, known to the teens, arrived and sparked a confrontation. Suddenly, one man threw a punch that sent the victim crashing to the ground, knocking him unconscious after hitting his head.
The attackers fled towards Fulham Broadway, leaving the victim seriously injured.
Victim Hospitalised With Serious Injuries
Emergency services rushed the victim to hospital. He suffered two jaw fractures and needed surgery but has since been discharged. The victim is still recovering from what police call a “horrific” and unprovoked attack.
Detective Constable Zachery Donohoe said: “This was a shocking and unprovoked attack. The victim continues to recover from his horrific injuries. I would urge anybody who recognises the man in these images to contact us immediately.”
