Man Charged After Teen Girl Found Dead with Neck Injuries
Maher Maaroufe, 22, of no fixed address, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker. He is set to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 22 March.
Tragic Scene at Sebastian Street
Police were called to Arbour 1 on Sebastian Street at around 5:10am on Saturday, 19 March. There, officers discovered 19-year-old Sabita suffering serious injuries. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Cause of Death Confirmed
A post-mortem at Whittington Hospital on Monday, 21 March revealed the cause of death as sharp force trauma to the neck.
Met Police Investigate
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have launched a full investigation. They are also offering support to Sabita’s family during this difficult time.
