A woman drunkenly crashed into a former footballer on the M27 hard shoulder – leaving him fighting for his life and ultimately costing him a leg. Now she’s been locked up for over two years.

Footballer Left Maimed After Horror Smash

Anna Malgorzata Bogusiewicz, 45, smashed her Mercedes into ex-Bournemouth striker Jordan Chiedozie, 31, in a horrifying crash last February. Jordan lost his right leg, suffered open fractures in his left leg, and broke his pelvis in the smash.

The collision happened while Jordan was changing a tyre near Ower, Hampshire, after a Southern League game with Bashley FC. His physio, Reighan Taylor, was with him at the time.

Jordan was rushed to hospital, spent six weeks in intensive care, and endured multiple operations.

Drunk Driver’s Denial and Recklessness

Police found Bogusiewicz had DOUBLE the legal alcohol limit – 60 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath, well over the 35 micrograms limit. She had also been making four video calls on her phone just moments before the smash.

Despite the devastation, Bogusiewicz showed zero remorse. She even called herself an “amazing driver” when questioned. She’s now banned from the roads for three years.

Judge Slams Woman, Hands Down Prison Sentence

On Friday, Southampton Crown Court sentenced the Wraysbury dental technician to two years and four months for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving.

Her barrister said Bogusiewicz was “absolutely distraught” and claimed she drove on the hard shoulder due to poor lighting and safety worries.

Victim’s Heartbreaking Words

“Before, my life was simple. I played football professionally and part-time, and I worked as a roofer every day. Everything I loved to do is no longer easy. I would love my life to be normal again. But it won’t be because of one day that changed everything.” – Jordan Chiedozie

Jordan thanked the medical teams for their heroic efforts. Meanwhile, physio Reighan Taylor revealed the trauma forced her to quit her job and move away.

Police Condemn Reckless Drink Driver

DC Joy Jarvis slammed Bogusiewicz’s “selfish decision” to drive drunk. “This terrible collision, which has changed a man’s life, could have easily been avoided.”
