Smoke Scare in Ventnor Laundry Room Sparks Fire Call-Out

Firefighters from Shanklin and Newport rushed to Knights Court on Ventnor’s High Street after alarms sounded over suspected smoke in a private home’s laundry room. The call came in just after 12.30pm on Friday.

Public Calls Prompt Swift Fire Brigade Response

Several members of the public spotted smoke billowing from the property and alerted the fire service. Two fire crews were quickly dispatched to investigate the reported blaze.

False Alarm: Broken Pipe, Not Fire

On arrival, firefighters discovered the “smoke” was actually steam from a burst pipe. The house was thoroughly inspected, and the owners were advised to arrange repairs. No fire damage was found.
