Four Arrested After Shocking Huyton Shooting
Four men have been charged following a terrifying shooting on Radway Road, Huyton, Merseyside, that left a man in his 20s critically injured. The victim was shot twice in the leg in a brazen attack on a residential driveway.
Police Strike Day Nets Multiple Arrests
The dramatic arrests came after a high-octane “strike day” operation by Merseyside Police targeting suspects across Knowsley, Sefton, and Liverpool. Officers were called to the scene just before 10:20pm on Friday, 28 November, following reports of gunfire.
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious wounds. Police believe two men fled the scene on a Sur-ron electric bike, triggering a major manhunt.

- Patrick Sean Lacey, 32, Manor Avenue, Crosby
- John Aaron Jones, 35, Stamfordham Drive, Allerton
- John George Patrick Hughes, 31, no fixed abode
- Bernard Flynn, 61, Knowsley Road, Bootle
All four face serious charges including attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of a shotgun and ammunition with intent to endanger life, Section 18 grievous bodily harm, and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Ex-Man United Academy Star Among Those Charged
One of the suspects, Patrick Sean Lacey, is a former Manchester United academy player and ex-professional boxer. Lacey boasts an impressive record of 10 straight wins, with his latest knockout victory coming as recently as October 2023.
