Derby Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Brutal Stabbing

A Derby man has been charged with attempted murder after a savage stabbing left a victim fighting for his life. The shocking attack happened on Tuesday, September 26, around 10:50pm in Laverstoke Court, just off Peet Street.

Victim in Critical Condition

Police rushed to the scene following reports of the stabbing. They found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed straight to hospital and is now in a critical but stable condition.

Suspect Held After Court Appearance

24-year-old local, Alfid Kalid of Peet Street, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on September 28 and was remanded in custody.

Police Thanks Community, Maintain Heavy Presence

Temporary Detective Inspector Eleanor Develin thanked the community for their support. She reassured residents the incident is being treated as isolated. Police are keeping a strong presence in the area while the investigation continues.

“If anyone has concerns or information about this or any other matter, please speak to the uniformed officers in the area,” said Detective Inspector Develin.
