Man Charged with Murder of 14-Year-Old in Newham

Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, 36, a Spanish-Brazilian living in Newham E16, has been charged with the murder of teenage boy Daniel Anjorin.

Facing Multiple Serious Charges

Monzo isn’t just charged with murder. He also faces two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed weapon.

Investigation Unfolds with Crucial Public Help

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, leading the probe, revealed the case’s complexity. Multiple crime scenes, forensic evidence, CCTV footage, and a haul of witnesses are all part of the investigation.

“We are starting to piece together what happened on Tuesday,” said Smith. “Huge thanks to those who have come forward with dash-cam, doorbell, and mobile phone footage. Your help is vital.”

Smith also thanked courageous witnesses who came forward despite their fear, urging anyone with info to contact the police immediately.

Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 2 May.
