Brit Jailed for Rape After Jury Unanimously Finds Him Guilty at Swindon Crown Court
Mustafa Naro Ali, 30, homeless and on the run from a fixed address, was found guilty of rape and sexual assault by penetration on Friday, November 12, 2021. The swift five-day trial at Swindon Crown Court ended with a unanimous verdict from the jury, sealing Ali’s fate.
Detective Praises Victim’s Courage
Detective Sergeant Louise Kuklinski of Swindon CID saluted the victim, saying, “This verdict is testament to the victim in this case, who showed immense courage by reporting the horrific attack from that night in April and bravely gave evidence to the jury.”
She added, “We want all victims to feel supported and confident enough to come forward. Wiltshire Police takes violent and sexual crimes seriously and are committed to investigating, charging, and punishing offenders.”
Police Vow to Protect Vulnerable Sex Workers
DS Kuklinski stressed the force’s dedication to safeguarding sex workers, calling it “absolutely vital” that these vulnerable members of society report offences against them. “We do everything to minimise threat, harm, and risk,” she said.
“Multi-agency teamwork is key. Together, we work to keep our streets safe for everyone.”
Crown Prosecution Commended – Sentencing Set for January
Kuklinski also praised the Crown Prosecution Service and prosecution counsel Mr. Welling for their tireless work in building this robust case.
Ali remains in custody and faces sentencing at Swindon Crown Court on January 14, 2022.
