Met Police Special Constable Charged with Rape After West Mercia Probe

Special Constable Paul Hoile, serving with the Metropolitan Police’s North West Command Unit, has been hit with a rape charge following a West Mercia Police investigation.

  • Hoile was arrested on suspicion of rape on Wednesday, July 6.
  • Just two days later, on July 8, he was formally charged.
  • He is set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, July 9.

The alleged offence took place in Newport, Shropshire. Meanwhile, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has suspended Hoile pending the outcome of the case.
