Predatory Photographer Jailed for Sex Attacks on Women
Osman Saeed, 42, from Woodchurch Road, NW6, was slammed with a seven-year prison sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 13 March. The convicted sex offender preyed on women over six years, luring them to fake photoshoots before assaulting them.
Fake Photoshoots Used as Trap
Saeed targeted women by advertising free portrait photoshoots under the fake profile ‘Darwaysh Onhisown’. The court heard that he promised professional photos to build his portfolio but had sinister intentions.
Victims arrived expecting a harmless session. Instead, Saeed plied them with alcohol to lower their defences before carrying out sexual assaults.
Horrific Accounts from Victims
- 2012: One woman was invited for a free shoot. After refusing, then accepting wine, she blacked out. She woke in her underwear with Saeed taking photos and touching her before she fled.
- 2014: Another victim was offered a drink during a shoot in West Hampstead. She passed out and woke to find Saeed naked and molesting her. She escaped by pretending to be drunk and fled. Despite reporting, no charges were initially made due to lack of evidence.
- 2018: Police were called after neighbours heard a disturbance. Officers found a distressed, intoxicated woman who said Saeed pushed her, climbed on top of her, and trapped her during a “photoshoot.” She had to be hospitalised.
Detective Praises Victims’ Courage
“Saeed is a danger to young women and I am pleased he is behind bars,” said Detective Constable Scott Sellars. “Despite the overwhelming evidence, he pleaded not guilty, forcing victims to relive trauma during the trial. I commend the brave women who testified, with one even returning from abroad to ensure justice.”
The court has imposed a strict order to monitor Saeed and prevent him from harming anyone else.
