A man in his 50s was battered in a savage attack on Fleming Way, near Fritillary Court, around 7.45pm last Saturday (11/12).

Drunken Thug Tries to Snatch Phone

The victim told police he was set upon by a seemingly intoxicated man who tried to steal his mobile. He was knocked to the ground, hit over the head, and kicked during the ordeal.

Police Hunt Suspect After Hospitalising Victim

The injured man managed to alert police, who launched a search of the area. Officers took him to Great Western Hospital to treat his injuries. No arrests have been made yet, but inquiries are ongoing.
