Sex Offender Sean Phipps Goes on the Run After Release from Prison

Fugitive on the Loose

Sean Phipps, 51, is missing after his release from prison. The convicted kidnapper and rapist was jailed in 2002 but failed to return to HMP Leyhill as ordered. Police are now hunting the 6ft 2in white male, who’s known by several surnames, including Cawthray, Goldthorpe, and Perry.

Last Seen in Bristol

Phipps was spotted in Bristol city centre on Wednesday. At the time, he wore a black coat over a blue top, blue jeans, Timberland boots, a black Casio watch, blue glasses, and carried a vape pen. CCTV footage captures his outfit on the day he vanished.

Police Issue Urgent Appeal

“We believe he may have travelled outside our area and has links to Leicester and Leeds,” said Detective Inspector Dan Rowan. “If you see Sean Phipps, call 999 immediately and quote reference number 5222130002.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the police on 101 using the same reference number. Authorities are treating the situation seriously due to Phipps’ dangerous background.
