Woman Charged with Murder of Man Found Buried in Garden

Northamptonshire Police have named the victim in a chilling murder case. 42-year-old Nicholas Billingham was found dead with a fatal stab wound to the neck.

Fiona Beal Arrested and Charged

A 48-year-old local woman, Fiona Beal of Moore Street, Kingsley, was charged with his murder on Sunday, 20 March. She appeared before Northampton magistrates the next day and was remanded to Northampton Crown Court. Her next court date is set for a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday, 19 April.

Beal is accused of killing Billingham sometime between 30 October and 10 November last year. She was arrested at a hotel in Cumbria on 16 March, which led police back to the Moore Street address.

Body Discovered After Forensic Search

  • Forensic officers and a cadaver dog searched the Moore Street property over the weekend.
  • Officers uncovered a buried body in the rear garden on Saturday afternoon.
  • The body was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary for a post-mortem by a Home Office pathologist.

Investigation Continues

The inquest into Nicholas Billingham’s death is suspended while criminal proceedings are underway. Northamptonshire Police urge anyone with information to come forward. Contact them on 101 and quote incident number 26 from 16 March 2022.
