Six Men Face Court Over Shocking 13-Year Sexual Abuse Case
Philip Young Hits the Headlines with 56 Serious Charges
Philip Young, 49, once from Swindon and now based in Enfield, stands accused of a staggering 56 sexual offences. His charges include 11 counts of rape, 7 sexual assaults by penetration, multiple sexual touching offences, and 11 counts of administering substances to overpower a victim for sex. That’s not all – Young faces over 200 voyeurism charges, possession of more than 300 indecent images of children (including extreme content), and possession of extreme pornographic material.
Young appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on December 23 but refused to enter a plea. He was remanded in custody ahead of his hearing at Swindon Crown Court on January 23, 2026.
Five Other Men Joins Court Drama
The victim, Joanne Young, 48, has bravely waived her right to anonymity and continues to receive specialist support. Wiltshire Police have urged the public to respect her privacy and direct all queries to their press office.
Also appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court the same day were five other men charged with offences against Joanne:
- Norman Macksoni, 47 – Pleaded not guilty to rape and possession of extreme images.
- Dean Hamilton, 47 – Pleaded not guilty to rape, sexual assault by penetration, and two counts of sexual touching.
- Connor Sanderson-Doyle, 31 – Charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching; no plea entered.
- Richard Wilkins, 61 – Charged with rape and sexual touching; no plea entered.
- Mohammed Hassan, 37 – Charged with sexual touching; no plea entered.
All five were granted bail and will return to Swindon Crown Court on January 23, 2026.
Disturbing Details Emerge as Investigation Continues
The alleged crimes stretch from 2010 to 2023, painting a disturbing picture of prolonged abuse. Wiltshire Police have launched multiple appeals to identify suspects, including a recent Crimewatch feature. One suspect from the latest appeal still remains at large.
