Fourth Body Recovered from Southend Medical Plane Crash
The final body has been pulled from the wreckage of a medical plane crash near Southend Airport, three days after the tragedy that killed all four on board. The recovery operation, led by Essex Police alongside air accident investigators, ended today after a “complex and delicate” effort.
Fatal Crash Claims Four Lives
The Zeusch Aviation aircraft went down shortly after takeoff at 3.48pm on Sunday, 13 July. All four people on flight SUZ1 were lost. Among the victims was 31-year-old Chilean nurse Maria Fernanda Rojas Ortiz, on a crucial medical mission.
Investigators Use DNA and More to ID Victims
Authorities are using DNA, fingerprinting, and tattoo analysis to confirm the identities of the victims. Essex Police said:
“Our work continues away from the site alongside the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB). The aircraft is now being recovered safely.”
Company Shares Heartfelt Condolences
Zeusch Aviation expressed deep sorrow:
“It is with deep sadness that we confirm there were no survivors. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the victims, their families, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
The investigation continues as flights at Southend Airport return to normal operations.
